EpsilonRebars withstand a wide temperature range – from approximately -200°C to +180°C
In many projects, the challenge is to apply DFOS sensors in non-standard temperature ranges. That’s why we prepared bending tests for our EpsilonRebars embedded in liquid nitrogen, where the sensors operated flawlessly.
On the other hand, we have extensive experience placing sensors within asphalt layers*, both in the lab and the field. Through these applications, we’ve confirmed that EpsilonRebars withstand a wide temperature range: from approximately -200°C to +180°C.
Future research directions include long-term testing and examining the effects of fatigue on sensors performance.
