Prestressed T-shaped girders: strain, crack, stress and shape sensing
The R&D project was carried out at the Rzeszów University of Technology. The presented stage consists of two full-scale prestressed T-shaped girders with integrated monolithic Nerve-Sensors. They enabled simultaneous monitoring of various physical quantities during early concrete and mechanical loading tests. Three installation methods were investigated for new and existing structures (embedding, surface gluing, near-surface installation).
DFOS Sensors Installed: EpsilonSensor and 3DSensor

The graph displays a spatial visualization of vertical displacements along the length during successive load steps as the force increases. These values were compared to reference point measurements, showing very high accuracy in capturing vertical displacements (shape changes).
