Nerve-Sensors products for monitoring and diagnosing safety-critical infrastructure
The recent floods unfortunately remind us of the need to monitor and diagnose safety-critical infrastructure such as dams, levees and reservoirs. To assess their technical condition after these extreme events, we need effective diagnostic solutions that can provide a comprehensive picture of the structural integrity of large-scale facilities – not just at selected points. Among other things, this will help to detect leakages at an early stage.
Our team headed by Szymon Długosza participated in two research projects that resulted in two papers on distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) to monitor the condition of earth structures. This innovative approach is a step towards safer and more resilient infrastructure.
