Our last research was part of the H2020 funded GEOLAB, Science for enhancing Europe’s Critical Infrastructure. The second stage of PEBSTER project was focused on load transfer in piled embankments with a steel mesh reinforcement.

The deformation of the geotechnical field (5.0 x 5.0 m) was analysed using EpsilonSensorsread more (both bonded to the steel rebars and embedded in the ground) and 3DSensors. Thousands of sensing points allowed a detailed assessment of axial strains and 3D displacements of the embankment, which was determined by the presence of the stiff columns.
